Latest Challenge: Annapurna Base Camp - Nepal

I have to say, this is one I'm really looking forward to!

At the end of October 2009, I will be flying out to Nepal to embark on the Annapurna Base Camp trek, and I'll be doing it in aid of the Himalayan Cultural Conservation.

This is a classic 9 day Himalayan trekking route taking us to a height of 4130 metres. Staying in traditional tea houses, our destination will be Nepal's Annapurna Base Camp (also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary). It is arguably the most intensely scenic trek in Nepal. From the Annapurna Base Camp the towering peaks of Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7273m), Annapurna Fang (7647m), and Machhapuchhare (6997m) bathed in snow set the scene as one of the most spectacular mountain settings in the Himalayas. for more, click here.

About this site

Welcome to Walking4Charity, my name is Paul Buck and this is my website dedicated to fund raising for worthy causes.

In the past my mates and I have raised money for charities such as Epilepsy Action, The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research and The Martlets Hospice, through events like climbing Ben Nevis, the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way. Our last challenges include walking the Ridgeway Trail and the forest boundary of Dartmoor! The last one, in 2008, was to walk the Devon Coast to Coast trail, but this was curtailed on the third day thanks to our great British weather and some nasty looking blisters!
