Check in at Queensberry Hill YHA is not until midday, so I got some washing done and arranged some trips. I called Maddy, who was also in Melbourne, and arranged to meet at 2pm, at Victoria Markets. I gave her the bad news that she would have to put up with me for another few days because I was now booked on the same tour to Adelaide tomorrow.
Somehow, at 2pm, Maddy and I missed each other. I stood at one end of the market, she, the other. I waited for an hour, before returning to the hostel. I left a message on her friends mobile, and waited for her to get in touch.
Went out in the evening to meet Maddy at the Hard Rock Cafe, and after a couple of drinks, we moved to a Malaysian Restaurant, with her friend, Scott, and his workmates. When we had all sat down, there were thirteen. The noise emanating from this table was incredible. I had never been out with people so loud. It seemed they were all conducting three conversations at the same time.
Scott over ordered for everyone, and the "Doggy Bag" could have fed me for a week.
One eye on the watch, we left the restaurant and went to a pub, The Pig and Wheelbarrow, for a swift drink before I returned to the hostel.
