day thirty-seven: strahan to devonport

Shit weather all day, first stop was at Henty Dunes for, as Shaun ordered, a frolic. Funniest thing was Maddy trying to copy Nik and I to see how far she could jump, ending face down in the sand. She was picking it out for the rest of the day!

We got to Dove Lake for a 2 hour walk, by now it was raining, and Cradle Mountain was nowhere to be seen. A few declined the walk, and they were probably the sensible ones. The views were disappointing. Maddy and I trailed behind, to give Nik something to gossip about!

Lunch at the information centre, met Dave again, as he worked here part time.

Last stop of the afternoon was a wildlife centre, where we got a look at some Tassie Devils and Wombats, amongst other Aussie creatures.

And that was it! the end of the 5 day tour, dropped off in Devonport at Tasman House Backpackers. The hostel was packed, and at first glance, I wasn't keen on it. Decided my stay in Tasmania should be cut short, and rearranged my ferry back to Melbourne on Thursday.

In the evening, Nik, Maddy and I, went out to Molly Malone Irish Bar, the rain was chucking it down big time now. The pub was quiet, we had a few drinks and it shut at 10pm. Got a taxi back to the hostel, and bed.
