day ninety-nine: kununurra to victoria river

We left Kunnunurra, passing into the Northern Territory, losing 1½ hours and stopping for morning tea on the banks of the Victoria River, before a quick stop at a roadhouse further on.

We took a side track to Jasper Gorge, a stunning drive to a spot where we could have lunch and a swim.

Another long drive. We pulled up short of our stop for the night, and took a walk up Douglas National Park Escarpment Lookout, for a view of the Victoria River.

Overnight stop at Victoria River. A campsite with showers and the opportunity of playing pool and having a beer with the usual people. Also wandered down to the bridge for some croc spotting.
