day ninety-six: clearing the air

We rose early, as usual, and drove to Mary River for an early morning swim. Then we continued on to Turkey Creek, where some of the guys were doing a helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles.

Eddie had made a mistake when booking, and Peti had been forgotten. This brought to a head, the growing dissatisfaction of the tour. Monika suggested to Eddie, a way of making sure everyone had been asked about a particular excursion, and he didn't seem too happy to be told how to do his job. I was also contemplating cancelling my trip from Darwin back to Broome with him.

In the end, he paid for Peti out of his own pocket, and sat down with us to reassure us there was more to do later on in the trip, and not to leave him out of group discussions. The situation wasn't helped by the fact we were not enjoying what we had signed up for and we can hardly blame Eddie for the late end to the "Wet Season".

We left Turkey Creek about 3pm, and drove to El Questro Station. The Gibb River Road was open here, and was pretty bad, so it was dark when we arrived.

Had dinner, went up to the bar. Eventually, just Peti, Monika and I were left, we didn't stay long.

Good to sleep out with no mozzies tonight, another late one!
