#7 - West Highland Way - Day 4

Today was a much better day for me. The overcast weather made walking comfortable. We followed the river Falloch for four miles before ascending to the military road that the West Highland Way follows north for much of the rest of the route.

By-passing Crianlarich, the route then descended down to the river Fillan, to Dalrigh, where it is said that Robert the Bruce suffered defeat here by the MacDougalls of Lorne, in 1306.

From here, it was a gentle amble into Tyndrum for a well earned ice cream!

Accommodation at Crianlarich Youth Hostel.
