A publicity event organised by the Ramblers Association will take place near Vixen Tor, Dartmoor, on Sunday 27 April.
This will be a peaceful demonstration to remind the media and the Park Authority that the people still wish to visit Vixen Tor - as they did for many years before a change in landowner in 2003 closed access. This is not a trespass and accessing or climbing on the Tor will not be encouraged.
The plan is to meet at Pork Hill in Dartmoor National Park (grid reference SX 531 751) at 10.15am. Kate Ashbrook, Ramblers Association National Chairman, will say a few words followed by a walk to the Vixen Tor enclosure to admire the Tor from over the wall. During the afternoon, Ramblers Association local groups will lead a choice of eight walks taking in Dartmoor’s spectacular scenery.
