Quick update / reminder that on Saturday 16th August 2008, I'm going to start walking the 117 miles of the Devon Coast to Coast Trail, in aid of Epilepsy Action.
The start is 12 days away, and everything is pretty much sorted; Bed & Breakfast's booked, boots broken in and I'm eager to set off! I only have to negotiate my way through a week of walking group leader training in the Pennines unscathed and also the small matter of making a weeks supply of flap jacks!
I'll leave Wembury on the South Coast, going along the Erme-Plym Trail, to Ivybridge on the southern edge of Dartmoor. From there I pick up the Two Moors Way, crossing both Dartmoor and Exmoor, ending in Lynmouth on the North coast. This should take me 7 days!
Epilepsy Action is the leading representative epilepsy organisation in the UK, helping over 365,000 people a year. As well as campaigning to improve epilepsy services and raise awareness of the condition, they offer assistance to people in a number of ways including a national network of branches, accredited volunteers, regular regional conferences and freephone and email help lines.
