Weather stayed perfect for a tramp closer to home this weekend.
Starting from Uxbridge, 16 miles to Cookham along the Beeches Way. A pleasant route along the green corridor through the rhodedendrons of Langley Country Park, to the popular location of the good old Hammer Horror movies, Black Park. Next, through the village of Fulmer before crossing Stoke Common to Burnham Beeches. From there, through more woodland before the small descent to the River Thames, and picturesque Cookham, for a well earned pint of Landlord in the Kings Arms.
A bit of a march, finished in under 6 hours, and with the ground surprisingly hard under foot, a couple of blisters to prove it!
