Rediscovering the Chilterns - Part 1

With work so hectic at the moment, I didn't have the chance to get away for the weekend, but still wanted to keep the walking ticking over. So, with my friend Diane, we stepped out to the nearby Chilterns.

A 12 mile circular from West Wycombe to Turville and back; a route I've trodden a couple of times before, but particularly special at this time of year thanks to the free flower show of bluebells! Turville is a village well known for its part in the Vicar of Dibley, but more importantly, the place for our lunch stop in the Bull and Butcher pub. Then came the climb up Turville Hill, made more difficult by the sunday roast just consumed, to the windmill that some will remember fondly in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
A great day in the sunshine and a top spot in the English countryside!
