Rediscovering the Chilterns - Part 2

After five working days of early mornings and late nights, you'd think I would fancy a lie in; no fear of that, as Diane and I headed to Christmas Common for another spot of rambling around the Chilterns.

Eleven miles this time, via Russells Water, Swincombe and the Ridgeway National Trail, ending with a short but steep climb up Watlington Hill and its great views of the Oxfordshire countryside.

I must admit I had forgotten how beautiful this part of England is; the walks here may be a little tame compared to those on Dartmoor, the Peak District or the Brecon Beacons, but the past couple of weekends have been a timely reminder.
