Photographing flowers: practice makes adequate

This weekend, my copy of "The Wild Flowers of the North Bibbulmun Track and Jarrah Forests" arrived. A handy book to assist me in identifying the flora as I make my journey through South-west Australia's Springtime, it also got me to thinking how best to capture the images using my humble Canon Powershot SX210IS.

Nothing for it but to get out into the garden and play around. I managed to get a few that I thought were adequate, considering the sunlight made viewing the LCD screen difficult and there was a slight breeze; Here's a few of them.
